Hello all!
I received news this week that I passed my NCLEX and am beginning to look for RN careers in the Los Angeles area. I heard about filling out an application on the LA County website and have began the process! In reading other threads I have heard this process can be very lengthy and has taken some users over 6 months to hear back about a position! Has anyone recently been through this process and can give a timeline about when they filled out an application and eventually accepted a position? And is there anything you can do to expedite this process?
Thank you!!

This is unrelated to your topic and I'm afraid I can't offer insight into the questions you are asking, but this is a question I have always wondered; what is the salary like in los angeles? And places like Silicon Valley? These are considered among the most expensive cities to live in and I would assume that they would have to stay competitive to keep nurses employed and fed in the area, so I am curious? Need nurses to keep those tech geniuses at google and youtube alive and healthy.

There isn't much you can do to speed up the initial process. Make sure you submit all of your documents required to avoid delays like resume and BLS. After you apply you'll be asked to take an online test so take it as soon as you are able to. I recommend doing the practice test. Then you'll receive a letter telling you if you do or do not qualify for a position. If you do qualify then you can start calling wherever it is you want to work. If they have a nurse recruitment office call them and ask which departments are hiring.
