Los Angeles Children's Hospital

Published

Have a question about Los Angeles Children's Hospital. What is the average starting wage for RN with experience? I have over 3 years as RN with 1.5 years current acute hopital experience. I've heard that it doesn't pay well. However, it has been said from non-childrens employees. So not sure. It's for the transition BMT position, if that makes a difference. Thank you in advance.

I find glassdoor.com to be really accurate. It says about $36/hr which seems really low for los angeles. UCLA and Cedar's Siani pay way more. But CHLA has great reviews!

Thanks for the reply. Never thought about checking out Glass door. yes that seems low for LA area as I am making more than that at my small hospital.

That would be your base rate. After 8hrs its considered over time. So 8hrs for $36hr plus 4hrs of $54hr. Add the $amount for all and divide by 12 and you shall get your average $/hr.

UCLA also pays overtime after 8 hours of work. And according to the glassdoor a nurse with 3 years of experience there has their base pay of $40/hr but reading their contract online it sounds like it's actually $47.15/hr

It also goes by experience at CHLA. But in comparison to UCLA/USC/Kaiser they are the lowest paying.
