  1. Congratulations! Just depends on the Unit. Maybe scenario, past experience, goals.
  2. It also goes by experience at CHLA. But in comparison to UCLA/USC/Kaiser they are the lowest paying.
  3. That would be your base rate. After 8hrs its considered over time. So 8hrs for $36hr plus 4hrs of $54hr. Add the $amount for all and divide by 12 and you shall get your average $/hr.
  4. Thank you! All is done, employee health and HR. Now just waiting for the program to start. [emoji4]
  5. Good luck!! I just got contacted to go in for my physical and HR paper work. :)
  6. Hi arcelyn, The positions for the transition program are on their website. You just apply and they will contact you from HR if they want to schedule you for an interview.
  7. Willowita, Did you ask if they had more candidates to interview? Maybe that's why you haven't heard back yet regarding your interview.
  8. Quick update, so looks like they will start calling in December for the physical and HR paper work.
  9. Hey ykim, I had my interview back in aug, and was offered a position. I believe my background was done but I am still waiting for them to contact me about the drug test and physical. Just wondering when that will happen.
  10. Hello, Just reaching out to anyone out there who will be starting the RN transition program at CHLA in 2016. Or anyone else who is currently in it since its a fairly new program. Looking forward to your replies. :)
  11. Well I just finished my second quarter, I am half way there! Summer quarter is intense, because it is only six weeks but the work load reflects 10 weeks worth. A lot of research, papers, and discussions. Second quarter involves the clinical component and clinical sites reflect where you live. They try to schedule your clinical site as close as possible, but you are in groups of 10, so anywhere from bakerfield, a little up north, to Tehachapi. First two days of clinical are in bakersfield for orientation. Second quarter is less intense with reseach papers than first but of coorifice you will have to dedicate that one day a week on the field and do different type of research. Also you get to know some of your classmates better since you will be interacting with them in person rather than on line for this part of the program. The professors are very helpful, they want you to succeed. The whole class is approximately 40 students. I feel i made the right choice :)
  12. I did for file a challenge for one of their pre-requisites (physiology), because I took medical physiology at another college. They did grant me the petition to challenge it, but by the time that was done I was already half way through their online physiology class, so I just decided to finish the semester.
  13. Hello, I have yet to run across a thread regarding CSUB's RN-BSN program, with current or past alumni. Would anyone in the program or anyone who has completed the program care to share their experience with the online classes, on site clinicals (like days and sites, rotation), or any advice. I will be starting this June 2014. I'm excited, a little nervous, and getting ready to begin. Thank you
  14. Are you in the program yet? :) I wish you success in the program, a speedy job after you pass the NCLEX, and hope that you can continue a tradition with me of giving back to someone else in need of uniforms and/or books or anything to help a nursing student. :)
