Anyone attending nursing program at Lccc?

I know to know how hard is, comparing to the tri-c nursing program. Any advise will be help for me

I went there. Feel free to PM me.

I am planning to go the lccc. How hard is the class test? I am struggling at tri-c nursing classes. I studied about 8 hrs average everyday. Most of tests are like nclex questions.I've been testing nclex everytime before the test, still didn't get the good grade. How lccc's testing questions like?

The entrance exam?

I mean every tests for class.

The programs are comparable. If you aren't doing well at Tri-C, you may not do well at LCCC. They use NCLEX-style questions, too. Before you go and jump ship, have you seen the nursing tutors? Have you taken a learning inventory to find out your learning style (and what study methods would work best for you)? Where is your cell phone while you are studying? You say that you are studying 8 hours/day, but if you aren't studying effectively and have constant disruptions, 8 hours is meaningless. Plus, no one can sit in one place and study for 8 hours solid. Are you studying in chunks and getting up and moving around? That's important, also. How much are you working? Can you work less hours? Do you have family support? Is a RN program right for you or would you do better starting off as a LPN and going back for more training? A lot of things go into being successful in nursing school.

Associate Degree is correct. If you're not putting in the work, and putting in quality work, it doesn't matter. LCCC is as hard as Tri-C which is as difficult as any other nursing program. They have to be. The material is the same. Moreover, we all take the same licensing exam, which is not an easy test. All schools must prepare you for that. I did bet you well in nursing school and in my BSN program, because I worked hard.

I'm a first semester nursing student at LCCC now and the program is very challenging. The tests that we've had so far are all NCLEX-style and the average grade in my class is failing. I study 30+ hours a week and am fighting to pull a B - I'm normally a straight-A student.

In addition to the NCLEX-style testing, what makes LCCC tough is that our program is 8 week sessions and the teaching style (at least in this first 8 week session) is 'concept-based'. In other words you have 8 weeks to learn what normally would have been taught over a full semester AND you have to do it in a teaching model where the teachers don't actually teach specific content. Our prof puts up a definition of a major concept and then we discuss what we feel about that definition. In the lab where we're supposed to be learning how to do assessments, the lab teachers give us an assignment and we have to work with a partner to learn how to do the assessment on our own.

Don't jump ship at Tri-C if the only issue you're running into is the NCLEX questions - in the end, no matter what program you choose, you're going to have to be able to pass that NCLEX anyway.

Not sure what you're referring to by 8 week sessions, but I can tell you the intensity of the program drastically increases in the third semester (210).

LCCC has a new curriculum as of last Fall. All of the Nursing classes are 8 weeks long.

That's crazy. What will they think of next....good luck.
