also try the delphiforums.com. the travel nurse and therapist section there is pretty helpful. http://forums.delphiforums.com/travelnurses
Which state? Which specialties? The more specific that you are, the more helpful that we can be...... :)
I have experience with thorascic sx, and general medecine. I am also finishing an advanced certificate in ER at the moment. I am looking for a good travel company and want to hear some of the pitfalls and benifits of the travel experience. I am looking at New Mexico ( used to live in Santa Fe) and Arizona
pros: money, new places, new people, you don't have to get involved in the "politics"
cons:you're potentially moving every 3 months, the new people & places could suck, could hate the job,
i love to travel, see new places and meet new people. i don't stay in my apt very much. i guess it depends on your personality.
when you are on assignment they expect you to pretty much take a full load after a couple days of getting oriented.
talk to alot of different companies. there are definitely differences. http://www.geocities.com/hobonurse/ has an index on the left side of the website that has a list of companies and some sample forms with questions to ask them and some interview questions to ask the hospital. it'll give you a place to start. also check out that delphi site.
