Hi! I am looking for someone in the RN program at Northwest in Senatobia. I am applying for the Fall, 2010 classes and just wanted someone ahead of me to kind of share ups and downs, etc. P.M. or e-mail me.
Also, if there is anyone else aiming for the Fall, 2010 class, that would be great too!
Thanks,
Vicki

Hello, I'm graduating this semester. I'm new to this board as well. I've lurked occasionally and finally registered. It's a hard program is all I can say. I't s doable but very stressful. I think the biggest up will be December 11th, 2009 at 6:30pm when I receive my NWCC nursing pin. The biggest downers are the tests. They test on critical thinking levels, basically NCLEX style questions. I bet I pass boards though. Good luck to you!

I am currently in the process of finalizing my application to NW. Unfortunately, I will have to take A&P I and II this summer if I am accepted in the program. I have until August to complete these, so it should be no problem. This is my first attempt at applying, and I am fairly confident. This is my 3rd degree. I have a BS and an MBA, so "this ain't my first rodeo."
At this point, I'm making the career change for the hours and flexibility afforded by the nursing profession. It's hard work, stressful, and in the opinion of many people, undervalued. However, I can tell you from experience that working 12 hours a day, six days a week with 235 employees is no easier.
My undergrad GPA was abysmal, at 2.93. However, I scored a 29 on the ACT and 97.5% Verbal and 97.8% Math on the TEAS, so I think it should compensate for the fact that my GPA is a bit lacking.
If I am accepted or not, I will post it here.
Good luck to all.

Is it true, as I understand it, that NWCC only require you to have A&P 1 and 2 plus labs in order to apply for the Nursing school. By next spring I will have completed College Algebra, General Psychology, Biology, Labs, A&P 1 AND 2 , English 1 &2, philosophy, Human growth-development and Microbiology. All of those are part of the ASN program as I understand it.???
