Your best bet is to actually call the anesthesia department at the hospitals, especially your own, and request to shadow a CRNA. There is a lot of liability issues, so the hospital you work at would be the best choice. Just because a CRNA on here would allow you to shadow them doesn't mean that the hospital system they work for would necessarily let you come into surgery. Privacy reasons, liability (blood squirts in your eye during surgery), etc.

I am an ICU RN in the Chicago suburbs. I would love the opportunity to spend some time shadowing a CRNA before I make the decision to apply to CRNA school. If anyone is willing to allow me to shadow, please let me know. :)
