Looking for Schools in Alberta and trying to decide between LPN and RN

I have just completed two years at St.FX doing my bachelor of science degree and have decided that doing a four year program and then going into medicine or pharmacy was not for me, but I still want a career in health care helping people.

I am trying to decide if I want to do a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (4 year program) or do my LPN at a college and then up grade to RN at a later date, but I don't really understand what the difference between the two programs are, I know length of program is different, but I don't know what the difference is on the job.

I am mainly looking at schools in Calgary to do my degree. I just do not know which ones have good reputations and bad reputations because I am from Nova Scotia.

Here are the schools that I am considering:

Mount Royal University - 4 year BSc. Nursing

University of Calgary - 4 year BSc. Nursing

Bow Valley College - 2 Year LPN

Are there any other schools in Calgary that I should be considering?

If you have completed your bachelor of science, then you likely would not have to complete the entire 4 years of bachelor of science in nursing. Ask the registrars office of the school you are looking into.

I have not finished my BSc. I have basically only taken intro courses and a couple of second year chemistry courses
