Looking for info from any RN's working at University Medical in Savannah, GA

Published

Hi and thank you for reading this post. I have an interview with University Medical and am considering moving from MA to GA if I am offered a position.

The position I applied for is for a nurse residency program on a Med Surg or OR rotation. With the sign on bonus I would be required to fulfill a 4 year commitment.

Being a new graduate with a diploma in nursing I feel that it would be a great opportunity, whereas if I stay where I am in MA now I may end up in a nursing home to start.

I do have a husband and 7 year old son to think about too.

If anyone can tell me about the hospital, the nurse:patient ratio, how they feel it would be for a new grad, and the starting pay it would be greatly appreciated!

Also it looks like Richmond Hill would be the best place to relocate with a school age child, so if someone could offer their opinion about housing, schools, etc it would be a great help!

thank you!

Specializes in ICU.

You may also consider Rincon as a place to live. My family and I lived there about 7 years ago and loved it. Schools were great!

Hello! I applied and was hired for their oncology floor! Did you receive a job position there? I just graduated in December 2013, then we moved to Savannah at the end of March 2014.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Congrats! How are you liking Memorial?

Pixi.RN Hello, my name is Brittany. My family just moved to Savannah, Georgia. I noticed that you work at Memorial Hospital in Savannah. Do you have any tips for their residency program? Little bit of background..... I'm finishing school in NC but I plan to move back with hubby and kids after graduation next year.
