Looking for IEN who are working now in Albera

Published

Hello!

I would like to get in contact with other nurses who had to do the CARNA Registration. Would be intresting the hear how they managed it. I have to do the SEC Assessment and then I will see. I'm a bit worried about it and don't know how it will be. I would be happy to chat with somebody about it.

Hi,

I am also planning for registration in Alberta. i couldn't understand why u need to go for SEC Assessment. where u from ?

are u a bscN or diploma and how much experience you have ?

thanks.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Nurses who do SEC do so once their transcripts have been assessed and the nursing board feels further assessment is required dependent on transcripts etc

I'm in Germany right now and I thought my nurse education would be very high. I work since 22 years, intensivcare and anasthetics. But CARNA wants this test which makes it a little difficult for me, because I'm in Germany. So it would be nice to hear from somebody who did it befor so I know a little better what to expect.

I couldn't understand what are the parameters on which CARNA decides if a person has to undergo SEC assessment.

is it your education, if you are diploma or bscN ? or is it your work experience or is it your area of specialty or what ?

do anyone out here know about this ?

thanks.

My understanding is the nursing board will review your training /transcripts and if they feel experience in an area is short they will request you do SEC. They may also look at your nursing experience if you have any
