Good morning all.
I have such a dilema on my hands. I am off for the summer...classes I need to take aren't being offered for the Summer semester. I am working full time and have been going to school full-time at night since I started college (Fall of 2009). My job that I have right now is a decent paying job, but I hate it so much. I am a Loan Servicing Specialist for Sallie Mae. If I were a finance major, I may like it, but this job is really not for me. Every day I keep thinking about how much I would love to walk into a quiet office or even a hospital just knowing that I am working in my prospective field. But I'm not. The only thing that is keeping me at Sallie Mae is my health insurance. It's a better plan for this area, but I know from experience that insurance is not the only reason to stay at a job. My previous job was working with perscriptions but I was discharged from there and was told that I can never apply back to that office or any other company that is merged/involved with that company. That sucks. I was discharged on unfair reasons but didn't have enough money to really fight it. I loved that job (sigh).
I have looked into different programs that my school offers as certificate programs and I am considering the Medical Office Specialist certificate program. I was thinking that if I can complete that in the 2 semesters that it takes to complete then I can at least add my certificate to my resume...and possibly get looked at!
Is there anything else that I can or should do to help me get into a hospital or medical office?
Thanks so much!
Michelle
