Chizzy-

As a new grad in Houston it seems to be frustrating to try and find a job down here. Where have you tried applying? If you are trying only in the medical center (TCH, Herman, St. Lukes) They only accept new grads in Jan & June when their nurse internship programs start.

I too tried to work in the above places, and only had 3 months expereince as an RN before I moved to Houston and couldnt get work at those places. They wanted to put me in their new grad programs, which at the time I moved, did not start for another 4 months.

I did eventually find a great job, it just took some time.

Make sure you resume is correct, no spelling errors, and always follow up with a phone call.

Good luck!

I just moved from houston but know of a couple good places. Have you tried the MD Anderson cancr center I know they were looking for some RN's not to long ago and even recruited my friend all the way in Killgore, also Memorial Herman south on Gessner is a good place to look, just some suggestions stray away from the medical center as much as you can initially because that is where EVERYONE goes at first, so the competiton is alot harder. Hope that helps
