Hey! I was doing some research on this as I am actually in a similar situation. Looking to get my career back on track after a one-year absence. Apparently, the future job outlook isn't too bad and there are quite a few ways for us to boost our job prospects. Hope you find this helpful, good luck! By the way, your kitten avatar is SOOOOO CUTE, haha! Happy holidays! :)
As I'm sure you know the hospitals around here don't hire LPNs. I would try looking at outpatient offices.
Temple Hospital do hire LPNs and actually have a few positions open, most of the other hospitals (Jefferson, Penn Medicine) hire LPNs for their doctors offices.
You can also try Wound Care Clinics, prisons, psych facilities, and sub-acute facilities that have vent/trach pts or pediatric pts...the key is looking in the most unusual places. Even look into being a Health Assistant at local school districts.
Try Indeed and beyond.com and use some keywords to bring up facilities; you can also try to find local agencies that will help with placement.
When I wanted a change as a LPN, I went back to school and got my BSN; what I wanted to do with my career wouldn't have been complete unless I had my BSN; that is an option if you desire more flexibility and can do it; just something to think about in this market.
Best wishes.
