Hello all!
I am moving from Pittsburgh, PA to Fort Mill, SC, and I feel kind of lost/anxious on finding a job here. I am working on getting my nursing license in SC because of course PA is not a compact state. I am really looking for any and all advice you SC and NC nurses have for me! :)
Do you guys recommend any particular hospital system? Have you had any great experiences in any particular hospital or unit in or around Rock Hill, Fort Mill, or Charlotte? If anyone is comfortable talking pay, what type of pay could I expect with 5 years experience inpatient between PCU/step down and ICU? Piedmont hospital told me I was looking at around 27/hr base, but that is just around what new grads get now in Pittsburgh (although our shift differential is only $1 for nights and nothing extra for weekends in Pittsburgh). What do nurse to patient ratios look like? While looking for jobs so far, it seems like SC/NC hires for straight nights or days, is there anywhere that offers rotating shifts?
If anyone works on a particular unit that they love and is hiring, let me know!! I really love surgical/trauma/burn patients, so any advice with this speciality would be greatly appreciated too!
Thank you all so much in advance, and happy nurses week!
