Long Beach Memorial / Miller Children's RN Residency March 2023

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to create this thread for all the applicants for LBMC/MCWH March 2023 New Grad Residency. I recently applied to Miller Children's for a few different units. All of my applications now say "completed", rather than "under consideration" or "submission received". I was wondering if this means that I am no longer in the running for any of the units?

Has anyone heard back for interview opportunities or know what the submission labels mean for the applications?

I accepted an L&d offer. It sounded like hospital orientation would be together?

Congrats! I'm not too sure honestly. I just know that it starts March 20th. Not sure if all units will start orientation together and how it will be divided in terms of units.

Congrats to you too!! Yeah I haven't heard much from them other than preboarding paperwork stuff. I think we might take some classes together as a cohort?

Congrats!! Yeah I feel like we should be meeting everyone at some point! Did you get to schedule your physical yet?

Thank you and congrats to you too! IDK if we'll all be one big group or split up by LBMC and Miller's. No not yet L&d has a different process. Did you?

Nope, haven't been told to do anything other than those preboarding tasks in the application portal.

Anybody hear back with offers from the NICU?

I heard by the end of this week we should hear something.

Hey all! I am wanting to apply for the March Start date. Anyone willing to tell me what all is needed for the application or show me to the right place? I am not finding requirements on the Nurse residency page. Thank you.

Hey, long shot since you already got hired and probably not active on here. But I wanted to ask you if you had L&D experience when applying? I'm applying for this upcoming cohort and needed advice!

Hi! I had a preceptorship in L&D and had taken lactation coursework and that's about it. I didn't have NRP beforehand. There were girls in my cohort without an L&d preceptorship. Feel free to PM me ☺️

Oh yay! you're active haha. I'm not able to PM on here you since my account is new 😪 My preceptorship is also in L&D! Was the lactation coursework through LBMC/Miller's? or did you do it separately? And how was the new grad program for you?! I'll have more questions, so hopefully I can PM you by then LOL.

I saw your message notification when I checked my email! No, my coursework was thru my nursing school. There was a certificate option for lactation. New grad program was great for me. I felt very supported. I sent you a PM, hopefully you'll see it.
