It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.
I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).
Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!
Is anyone hearing impaired or know anyone going through nursing school that is? I'm concerned about the stethoscope in clinical situations... I wear hearing aids and it's going to be annoying having to take them in and out over and over again, so I'm just wondering if anyone knows a way to make it easier?

I know this might sound like a silly question but have you thought of getting a hearing impaired stethoscope? I had a nurse who was hearing impaired and she used one.

I would, but my hearing loss is very... specific? on each side. Just increasing the sound overall would not help me, because I hear certain decibels better than others in each ear, and whenever the sound is just increased overall, it can be very painful depending on the decibel of the sound for me.

I’m not sure if removing/replacing your aids is the obstacle/solution.. I commend you for opening up about your impairment. I did notice an article that had a decent amount of activity on this site, albeit back in 2015.. at least have solace that you aren’t alone here.
Slay on.

WOW! this is a lot of information, but thanks for this!! I typically always feel very overwhelmed at the beginning of a semester especially after seeing all of the information being thrown at me so this gives me a good idea of what to expect if (God willing) I get in!

Yes my orientation was in person but that was before covid. RN everything is online lectures and clinical. The only class that’s face to face is skill and we only go 1 day a week for 4 hour and it’s only for 6 weeks until we are checked off on all our skills.
