Lone Star Cy-Fair costs

Published

If I were to take A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology and Pharmacology (and general ed courses are done), how much per semester am I looking at? I would be a career changer who cannot get student loans so I need a guesstimate of costs. Books and tuition. I looked at the slides for the info session and it gave a lump total per semester (not taking out the classes.i mentioned).

I'm shooting for the Fall 2019 class and I can save at least 2 bonuses from work (about $1500 each quarter) and want to know if that covers at least 2 semesters. Aside from that I am saving $100 per week from my check to cover more costs. With the time I have until Fall 2019 that is estimated at $4k.

I'm preparing because I don't think I'll be able to stay a manager in school and I will try to get a patient sitter job overnight to contribute to the household. I've com to grips going from $55k to $25k as a sitter, if I can get the job. The last thing I need to do is take money from that to pay for school. I sincerely hope this works. From Fall 2019 through Fall 2020 is going to be tough....

A quick search and by today's costs -- if those 15 hours was taken in 1 semester the tuition would be 992$ if you live in the district; 2417$ for a Tx resident that lives outside the district; and 2942$ for an out of state student. Tuition is based on the number of credit hours taken a semester Tuition & Fees

There is a lab fee of 18$ for Microbiology, AP I, and AP II.

There is a lab fee of 15$ for Pharm.

Total lab fees would be 69$

Books purchased from their campus bookstore:

Microbiology - lecture has a bundle package 204.50$ and lab manual 70.25$

Pharm - 124.50$

A&P I - lecture 180$ and lab manual 74.25$

AP II - there is a special bundle package that includes both lecture and lab 240.25$

I was looking at the cost per semester of the RNSG courses with the aforementioned classes completed.

Uhmm let's break this down a little ----

If I were to take A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology and Pharmacology

Ok so you want to take A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology and Pharmacology --- that part is clear

how much per semester am I looking at?

Then you want to know how much you would be looking to spend -- well sir that's what I provided for you.

At no point did you question how much the nursing program would be after taking these courses.. However, all you have to do is go to the college website... review the program curriculum and know how many credits per semester are required for the nursing program... I provided you with a link to the current year's fees that is based on the number of credit hours.. I found the class (lab) fees by looking through their course schedule for the current semester... and you can link to their campus bookstore for the current required, as well as recommended, texts along with their current prices to either Buy/Rent new or Buy/Rent used.. Ta Da you have an estimate for the cost that you can break down into semesters.

So, uhmm 4 classes would cost $7k? The Fall 2019 class sure sounds like I was talking about nursing school, MINUS the classes i asked about.

Fair enough --

Check out this program information from the school website... it has an estimated cost break down semester by semester... should point you in the right direction.
