Hello!
Has anyone taken the HESI exam yet? I wanted to get a feel for how the exam is.

Hi!! I haven't taken mine yet, but I have it scheduled for March 3.
Have you looked at free Practice Exams online?
Hello! I take mine on March 31st and I have been using nurse hub, every book you can think of plus all the free practice exams online. Some of the practice tests are easy, and then some are hard. I'm trying to over study so I won't be stuck on test day.
Hi! That's good that you're using nursehub plus other books.
So, I took my HESI exam through ProctorU.
I purchased NurseHub as a study tool for the exam, and I can say only about 25% of the materials in NurseHub were helpful on my exam. The math portion was nothing like it on the exam. It was a lot more complicated and the wording on the actual exam was very very confusing. In word problems, you'll be given sets of numbers and you have to figure out what to do with those sets of numbers. Definitely not concise. Most of the percentage, fractions, and decimal problems were mixed together in one question, which means that you would need to convert and then solve. However, lots of ratios, and household conversions. MY TIP: use the answer choices to find/check answers.
The reading passages for the Reading Comprehension were a lot shorter, questions were worded differently as well. Not concise like 'What is the main idea of the passage', or 'What is the tone of the author?', lots of implying and inferring questions - very important to know the difference.
In Vocabs section, I scored lower than I expected. I would recommend using the Elsevier Review Book for vocabs and really know these words. I would not recommend NurseHub.
For Grammar, the questions for this sections was tricky! Not straightforward. I recommend mastering the grammar section on NurseHub AND reading the Elsevier Review book. It
Anatomy & Physiology was straight forward, but they threw out unexpected questions that was neither in Nursehub not the Elsevier Review book. I would reccoment looking at HESI Anatomy and Physiology Quizlet.
Good luck! I hope you find this helpful, let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm curious since I'm taking the exam through ProctorU for lonestar. Are we allowed to use a blank paper for the math section? For the equations.
I took the exam through ProctorU for lonestar as well and I was able to use 3 blank papers for the math section.
Do you remember what kind of conversion questions they asked? I want to make sure I know them in and out LOL.
I don't exactly remember what I had on my test. I would honestly recommend studying ALL: metric conversions, Fahrenheit and degrees, miles, yards, feet, the big G (gallons, quarts, pints, cups, ounces), tons, pounds, etc....
You may look up flash cards on quizlet to help you!
I just took mine and what you said about the math portion was spot on. Nursehub sucked when it came to the math portion. The math exam on the test was difficult. I didn't have a whole lot of conversion questions but I had a lot of word problems that just didn't make any sense.
What did you use to study? Unfortunately I didn't score high enough on the anatomy& physiology, got well over a 90 on everything else though. Gonna have to retake it in 2 months?
I used Nursehub and the HESI admission assessment book. Nursehub worked when it came to like vocab, grammar, reading, anatomy but the math portion on nursehub was nothing like the acutal exam. I have to re take it too just because I did not like my math score. I made a 96 on the anatomy section and I used nurse hub and this quizlet I am going to attach. This quizlet is literally word for word for what I saw on the exam. You could probably just study this quizlet and pass.
