Hello!
I applied an age ago to volunteer as a nurse at London 2012, and found out I have an interview in a few weeks. I am very excited, but also very nervous, as I know they've had thousands of applicants and only have a few hundred vacancies.
I wondered if anyone else had been to one of these selection events and could tell me what to expect? It's a 90 minute session with a 30 minute interview, which seems a long time, and I'm wondering what they fill it with!
Thanks for any tips!

Hi angistraff I've just had my interview at the Baltic in Gateshead, the interview I had consisted of 4 questions
1 tell me about yourself
2 what can you offer the olympics
3 how do you work as a team player
4 any other personal qualities
I spoke to the medical director whom was at the interviews and she told me that they needed 400 nurses.
When you arrive you register, then have a look around the wall with loads of info about the event and past events, you then watch a short film 10mins, then you have a interview lasting between 20-30 mins, and that's it, a very laid back 1.5 hrs

and when it all goes wrong perhaps LOCOG will come begging to the 'too expensive' , 'not relevant' , 'not effnic enuff' organisations who were eliminated in favour of the in-house bid rather than the volunteer organisations who provide provide crowd event cover day in day out year round ....
