Hey Everyone!
I was recently hired at LLUMC (yay!) in the Adult Acute and Intermediate Medical Services! I'm looking for other new hires and for anyone who can give me info on the process! I'm still waiting for HR to call and set up orientation but I've accepted a verbal offer over the phone.
I have an interview tomorrow for the Neuro Intermediate unit. It took them a few weeks to call me but they finally did. The person I spoke to said the interview is from 9-12 and that it would take the whole time...a 3 hr interview sounds very daunting to me.
I have an ADN and BLS plus I have NIHSS group A certification (did it during school!). I have no prior medical experience other than school, so we shall see how it goes. I really would love this position so I hope it all goes well.
For those of you that interviewed, what was it like? Any tips? This is my first real nursing interview so I'm nervous!
Oh yeah I haven't even had that...It must be something wrong on their end. What was the employee health assessment like?
You'll be having an appointment with the Occupational Health Department. They'll be doing physical assessment, drug test and tb test. They'll let you lift weights like 50lbs to make sure you meet the physical requirements.

Ah OK. A lot of my classmates were surprised with how "physical" their new hire physicals have been.
