Yes, I received the offer email and text today as well! Congrats everyone 🥹

Has anyone gotten an update on their portal for the OR position?

Anyone starting this September 2025 for 11A/12A Medical/Cardiac progressive unit?

has anyone heard back from the Observation 8200 unit?

Hey congrats! Mine also says Surgical Care 14A. Do you or does anyone here know specifically what unit this is for? My first choice was Surgical/Neuro ICU, and second was trauma step down I believe. Thanks!

I was just in your guys shoes so I know the anxiety. They provide you a paper on the website about each unit but to simplify it, each floor has a east and west side with 16 beds on each.

Most floors, each side is completely separate from each other meaning if you were hired on 11A West it would be considered 'floating' to go to 11A East. From what I can remember floors that follow this type of format are:

  • 6a West: Transplant / 6a East: Oncology.
  • 11a West: Cardiology / 11a East: Internal Med
  • 14a & 15a West Surgical (Med Surg) / 14a & 15a East Trauma (Med Surg) - could have these floors mixed up

Other floors operate as one department such as the ICUs (7a SICU/Trauma ICU/Neuro ICU), 8a MICU, 9a CTICU/CVICU) and PCUs (10a Cardiothoracic Surg/Cardiology, 13a Neuro Progressive).

In terms of acuity of patients, of course the sickest are going to go to the 3 ICUs. For intermediate level of care patients they will usually go to one of these floors based on there condition:

  • 6a for cancer/transplant (liver, kidney, etc.)
  • 10th floor for cardiac conditions (NSTEMIs, A fib)
  • 11a West for more routine cardiac conditions (CHF exacerbation, post-op valve surgeries)
  • 11a East & 12th floor for Internal Medicine (encompasses pretty much every other condition besides the heart and brain)
  • 13th floor for neuro conditions

The 14th and 15th floor are typically for stabilized trauma patients, patients recovering from surgeries (I.e. hip fractures, amputations), wound complications, etc.

Thats such great info thank you for that! I got hired for 15a is that considered med/surg or step down? Just wondering does this qualify as critical care experience?

did anyone get updates for Murrieta? mine still says "under consideration" and there hasn't been any emails/text/etc.

hi I got a rejection email on the 30th but my status on their website still says 'under consideration'. should I still hold out some hope that they might contact me for a position?
