The adult hospital just closed applications this past weekend, so let's update each other as the application process goes along! This is my second time applying and I hope to get into the OR

Has anyone heard back from surgical trauma for interviews ?

I haven't. 😞 Hoping for the best, though!

Is this unit separate from the operating room?

Yes, surgical trauma is a separate unit from the OR.

Got ya. I applied for the OR. Do you know how many applicants they take per unit?

Just had my interview with two unit managers and the department manager. Very nice and relaxed atmosphere. They said I'll receive a call next week so hopefully that's a good sign

Do you mind sharing the questions they asked?

Does anyone know how long the contract is for loma linda? I heard it was three years but I'm not sure if I heard that right

According to my classmates that were hired in previous cohorts, the contract is 3 years but there's nothing the hospital can do if you leave early since there's no money in the contract. You might just be blacklisted from working there again.

Thank you for sharing that. Did your classmates enjoy working there?

Yes, the classmates that I talked to enjoy working there!

Hoping someone can shed some light.. they said pay was a flat rate of $44.15 (with $4 night, $4 weekend diff). Does anyone know if they pay time and a half after 8 hours?
