I mailed my letter December. CA application expiration is Jan 2008. I received my letter a week after it has expired.
So, you have your renewal for an additional 1 year already ??
Yes Lawrence, I'm sorry if I wasn't able to update you guys on that matter, I was just so relieved when I got my VT license and the extension was a bonus that I did not expect...A BIG BONUS though.....
I addressed my letter to Ms. Lisa Chan and I guess they won't give the extension if you still have an active file.... they wait til your file gets close to expiration before they renew it.
good 4 u fruity...
but im more into the first time applicants to sit for nclex Rn test, who havent / or have received LOE from cali BON.,did i get it right? you applied in two states? did you take 2 exams? or just had your passing in cali endorsed at VT? also, do you think i can receive my letter of eligibility Faster if id change my mailing adress? and adress it in the U.S.? any difference?
.., thanks in advnce
The processing takes 4-6 mos. If you want, you contact them and inquire about your status.
Once the NCLEX has been passed, an applicant need not take it again.

hey fruity! thanks for your reply to my pm. i sent you a reply too but it seems your inbox is full. anyway, i'll just post it here.
hi again! pardon the persistence but i was only able to read your post of april 5 where you wrote that you have received both your loe and vt license. just a point of clarification... i only have to send my ca pass letter and loe, i suppose, since my application has already expired last march 2008 and payment (btw, how much?) with the regular application packet? no need for me to ask ca bon to send vt bon a copy of my pass letter? do i also need to send a fingerprint card?
please excuse the so many questions. it's just that i tried endorsing to arizona before my file expired, upon the advice of an agency and i had to get the ca bon to send them a copy of my file, which they didn't do and my application with arizona expired with nothing happening. the fees i paid were non refundable. so you can just imagine my frustration. when i saw your post, i got hopeful and decided to ask for your guidance. btw, is there any information on the application that i should be on the lookout for? like, should i tick off "endorsement by examination" or something?
again, my apologies for this long message and ask for your patience and indulgence to help me out. thank you so much! god bless you and have a nice day!
Hi! I don't know if the thing I did will apply for those application that expired but its worth a shot.
For LOE:
1. Just the request letter of extension.
FOr VT bon:
1. application by examination packet(requirements are already stated on the application)
2. Payment
3. Ca pass letter
If you want to be sure, have CA forward your test scores to VT also in writing with a fee of $10.
Hope this helps.

If your file in CA is actually expired and you never got the extension, you are going to need to check with them before you do a thing. The letter has a three year expiration date on it and they follow that strictly, that is why it is so important to do things before the letter expires.
The letter states that it expired, so technically is not considered valid any longer. I would contact the BRN and find out if there is anything that you can do.
Sounds like your agency gave you information too late, not a good thing at all.
