Hello everyone!
I am currently processing my application in Florida Board of Nursing for my NCLEX RN examination and one of their requirement is the fingerprint livescan for the FBI background check. Since I am currently overseas because of my husband is in military I have to do the fingerprint cards and forward it to the agency that will convert it and paid for $100. today I received an email from the BON that the FBI has determined my fingerprints were not legible and I must repeat the fingerprint process. I was terrified this morning because I will pay for another one again and afraid if the prints will be the same again because I was having a trouble with my fingerprint livescan when I did my biometrics back in states due to my random visible lines in my fingers .
What do you think guys? should I give it another try because I think I have no choice and I just want to be eligible to take the nclex rn. Please let me know if you experience same as my story and I need some advice.
Thank you guys!

I have a friend going through the same thing. (We're in Florida) we walked into a live scan facility and they did out fingerprints. As we were doing it the computer kept saying 'prints are not legible. Continue?' And the guy kept overriding it saying yes. Fast forward a few days my friend got an email and letter stating that the prints were not legible and they needed to be redone. She absolutely refused to pay and forced the facility to do them over for free. They were not pleased. She has yet to hear back from the BON. She has called them and she said it will now take 5-7 WEEKS to get a response vs the 5-7 days for the initial prints.
I have yet to get my results read for my prints yet and it's been over a week. I hope I don't get the same response.
I would just do them over. Maybe wash your hands before hand to make sure they are clean?
Thank you for the response pookyp, but wow 5-7 weeks? That's a long wait. What company did you guys used for the fingerprints? I used Ideal Identification. (Sigh!) I will probably give it another try because the BON sent me an email saying that they will contact me about conducting a name search if the fingerprints have been rejected twice by the FBI due to poor image quality.

It a mail office that is live scan certified.

Hey I have a good news! The company just emailed me and they told me that they will use the 2nd card that I sent since they required me to send 2 fingerprint cards, and they will not charge me (Thanks God!) and if the FBI reject it again the FBI will just do the search name for the background check. :)

Hi, I am an applicant for Florida BON too. Like you I am also overseas. Where did you get your fingerprint cards? Did Florida BON sent it to you?
Hello ClaryRN09 you can call the Florida BON to request for the fingerprint cards, and they will send it to you through mail, it took me like 20 days to received. :) Or you can visit this website Secure Fingerprint Card-Scan for Florida Clearinghouse Background Screening (Live Scan) Service this is the company that I used to convert the cards to livescan and you can order their service from this website and they will send you the cards which is the same cards from the florida BON. :)
