Just thought I'd share a little humor. So I've been studying like crazy for my cardiac/cancer test for med surg II tomorrow. I was doing practice questions in the Silvestri NCLEX review book and it had something along the lines of how do you know cardioversion has been successful? The answers had arousable and nonarousable in them, along with a rhythm and bp. I thought it was something I had missed, looking all over the book for a definition, turns out it was just can you arouse the patient or not. Guess it seemed to simple of an answer hehe.
Anyone else make stupid mistakes like that?

Well, this doesn't have anything to do with studying, per se, but one day while in clinical my nursing instructor told me that my patient (I was on the step-down unit) was having "coffee grounds" from the NG tube.
So, like the good nursing student I was, I went to the pantry looking for the coffee. My instructor was like, "Now is not a good time to take a break...What are you doing?" I explained that I was "looking for the coffee because you told me that she had coffee grounds in her NG tube" and I figured I would make a fresh pot so the coffee grounds would be fresh.
Sigh....Needless to say I was sent off the floor....I could give you a page of stuff that I did while in nursing school. Not out of malicious anger but because I was young, naive, and had very concrete thinking.
After graduation from Nursing School I would see that particular instructor from time-to-time and she continued to tell me that while I was in Nursing School I would make her BUN rise. Hahahahahhaha...

Thats happened to me a ton of timess ! lol.
haha thank you. Now I don't feel quite as silly. My bf got a kick out of it since I called him (he's a paramedic) and was like what the heck does arousable and not arousable mean? He goes you mean like can you wake them or not wake them. Sounds sillier when someone else says it to you lol. His partner got a laugh too. Guess I did some good for someone today.
The coffee grounds thing made me laugh too hehe. I graduate in May so I guess the stress is just high
