Hi carrythatweight

I have an interview at city of hope coming up. I'm really hoping to get hired there. Do you have any interview advice? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I cant find it on Olive Views/County website. Am I missing something?

You have to already be on the eligible list to apply for the program.

UC Davis in Sacramento has a new grad program. Pay is very competitive (~48/hour) during the residency and the UC Davis system is fantastic.

Hi everyone, I have a question about switching my out of state RN license to California. I have accepted a job offer for the Versant program starting in a few weeks. I have done all of the hire prep (labs, ppwk, physical, ect) so the hospital has already spent money and time for the hire process. My dilemma is: California State Board is extremely back logged with application process now and tell me it is going to be another 60 days before they can issue my California license. Will the hospital turn me away when I arrive for orientation if California has not processed my license? Is there some type of grace period or am I out of a job?

Can you just call and ask or maybe go through the information they have sent you thus far for the answer? Maybe check the website and see if it mentions whether you need a CA nursing license when you start the residency? Sometimes you're not actually doing anything that requires a license early on so you may or may not need your license at the beginning.

Since California is not a compact state, I don't think there's any type of grace period.

I am looking into new grad program at ucla too. yes too bad they offer in March. too long to wait.

I just passed my nclex rn last November and I was so confident that I applied right away in different hospitals ( UCLA, Providence, Henry Mayo, Kasier) and I thought I'd be lucky to be called within this month. It's just now that I realized I have been applying to wrong positions the whole time. I had 3 yrs experience in a foreign country though I thought I can directly apply to any floor nurse positions. Just today i got a call from Providence hospital suggested to me that I must apply to a TIP (transition to practice) program to get to the desired positions that I am applying.

Is this how it should be...that I have to go through a new grad program? is this a paid training? how long does it usually take for the new grad program?
