Likelihood of getting into FNP program with non-accredited ADN but accredited BSN?

Published

I did search this topic but only found 2 threads both more than 2 years old. I recently graduated with my ADN from a non-accredited institution. Not the the greatest choice, I know but when I started I did not plan on ever going any further than RN. Anyways I really want to become a FNP. I am planning on going back for my bachelors this year, and my school has an articulation agreement with a CCNE and NLN accredited school that has an RN-BSN. If I go through that program I would then have an accredited BSN which is the major req. for most FNP programs. I would like to hear from anyone with any experience in this area on what my likelihood of getting into a NP program would be then? I'd be willing to do online or B+M, and I'm sure I'd have a good chance of getting into the FNP at the place I'm planning on going for my BSN (University of Phoenix), but Im not really sure I'd want to get my masters there, I'd really like to go somewhere like Simmons or Georgetown... Any insight appreciated. Thanks.

Have you asked the admissions people at Simmons and Georgetown? I would think that would be the best place to find out if this will be an issue for admission to those institutions and if so, what if anything can be done to be accepted. If there is no way, then you will know that now and be able to make plans with that information.
