I'm an alumna of a performing youth group that tours the country during the summer and competes.
Once I'm licensed, I'd love to volunteer some of my time and travel with them (likely helping out cooking and such), but if health concerns came up I'd likely help out, within my scope of practice of course. As they're basically in a different state each day.....and I'll only be licensed in one state.....how does that work?

You can not practice nursing in a state unless you are licensed in that state. The only exception is if you carry a compact state license and are traveling to states within the compact agreement.
I believe that if there was an emergent situation and you reveal that you are an RN, you could be practicing nursing without a license if you do not hold a license in that state.

Perhaps it would fall under the Good Samaritan edict.

The way I read most practice acts...If your services are incidental and uncompensated, you're not practicing.
