I was wondering how do you become licenced in another state? I currently live in NJ and will be begining a LPN program soon. Once completed (God Willing) I'd like be start working in pediatric homecare for at least a year or two. Aftwards my husband and I will most likely be relocating to Atlanta. I know I'm thinking ahead I know but I know I should be licensed in GA before looking for a job there but what would I have to do to become licensed in another state?

You can hold as many licenses as you're willing to pay for (and meet any other requirements -- continuing education, etc.)

Once you've completed school and gotten licensed in one state, you can apply for licensure by endorsement in any other US state. You can check the website of any state you're interested in, and look for the info and forms for application for licensure by endorsement. It's usually mostly a matter of submitting paperwork and paying the fee.

Do you know if it matters where you went to LPN/LVN school at? Or is the most important thing holding your LPN/LVN license in your state? I am also looking to attend school but in CA and want to make sure I can transfer it to IL or WI. Thanks:)

some states have stricter curriculum guidelines...you need to make sure that your school curriculum meets or exceeds most other states requirements. i have heard that it takes ga a long time to process endorsement applications, as long as 6 mos to a year..plan accordingly. good luck...:smokin:
