Licensed GN STILL looking for internship!

Published

I graduated from an ADN program (in Texas) in May. I passed NCLEX in June and I am STILL looking for a job. I apply for every job I can find now that does not REQUIRE experience and/or a BSN. I've only landed one interview and did not get the job. I was 1 in 6 applicants for 2 positions. I spoke with the recruiter after being notified I wasn't selected and unfortunately there was nothing that the chosen applicants had that I didn't...just personal choice.

I am very worried at this point. Each day/week/month I'm unemployed (as an RN) my clinical skills learned will get more "rusty" from disuse. I have a job that pays the bills-only because I moved in with my mom while I was in school-but I'm curious if anyone has suggestions for positions I can apply for that will get me into the healthcare field while I'm applying for internships. I'm still a student, completing my RN-BSN. At the time I chose to go this route I thought it would be better, I could get my RN and work, to support myself and my daughter, while completing my BSN.

I'm so frustrated, exasperated, desperate and depressed...any of those emotions at any given time and sometimes all together!

I worked SOOO hard (as you all are well aware-you did it too) and it feels like it was for nothing.
