Hey All!
My boyfriend just got orders out to Fort Campbell and we're getting ready to high-tail it out of So-Cal. I'm finding all kinds of job openings, but am having a heck of a time figuring out how to start the process of getting my license (LVN) transferred or endorsed out in TN. The California BON website is most helpful (I just need to give them my application to the new state and $75 to release me), but I am not enjoying Tennessee's BON site at this point lol. The only thing I'm finding is the application for RN, which certainly isn't going to help me at the moment. Really, I'm hoping to get one of the jobs at the army hospital, making this a non-issue, but I know it's still a good idea to be legal in the state in which I'll be living. I really don't want to have to call the Board because I have the feeling it will be most stressful, but if that's what I have to do, that's what I'll do. Anywho, if anyone has recently gone through all this, I'd appreciate if you could please share some info with me...primarily HOW (lol), but also how long the process took you and how expensive it was.
Thank you so much!!
Well I feel awfully silly--after following a link from another thread, it was right there! So, I rescind the majority of my post lol...however I'd still love to hear about anyone's adventures in license transfers to TN! :wink2:

What about being a new grad in TN, but go for the Cali license, and then get one in TN as well. The only reason, it would give me an opportunity to work in calf and TN. Wages are low here and I may have to leave the state to afford to live
The wages may be on the lower end in TN (especially new grad), but you have to remember the cost of living index in Cali is awfully high...especially seeing as how the state is beyond broke. It's worth a shot to go for it (although I've heard there are some difficulties getting a brand new license in Cali if you've gotten your education in another state), however one caution...no one quite knows what's going to happen with Medi-Cal, which is what--in both my current jobs--I come across most often as primary insurance...My full-time job has put a merit-raise freeze into action (thus no matter how great our annual reviews, no one gets a bump in pay), and my part time job may not be there soon...hence why I'm not too upset to be getting out:eek:

Where in TN did you go? I am about to graduate and am being forced to relocate there because of Hubby. I am going to the Nashville area. How is the job market?
