License Reinstated

Nurses Recovery

Published

Hello!

I am a nurse in recovery, my license was suspended for four years. Reinstated Jan 2019. I have received a number of calls and f/u interviews. As required a nurse refresher course was completed. During the 4 yr suspension bills still needed to be paid, I worked in customer service jobs via temp agencies. As I have sent my application and resume the talent aquisition or recruiters are fast to contact me, then I get the "Well we are looking for more recent experience" those kind of replies for the last 4 responses. The last 10 years (prior to suspension of course) was Utilization review-Case Mgt-Medical Review etc. I may need to seek a floor position and work my way back but a with temp narcotic restriction not sure what to expect with that route too! Those of you who faced this dilemma, any pearls of wisdom, advice or experience would be helpful. Thank you!

It's not fun, but it's doable. Expect to get a job in the places no one wants to work at first, then once you get a job you'll be able to find a better one.
