Do yall still do classroom head lice checks? I've been doing this but I feel it's a privacy issue what are your thoughts on this?

Totally....you don't check every kid's temperature in the class if you have 2 kids in the same class with a fever...before I would ever do a classroom head check again I'd make sure I have parent permission for every kid....it'd still be a waste of time...and...detract from education.

The American Academy of Pediatrics just issued new guidance. Class checks are not recommended (as we know). Posters who are required to check, look for the guidance online in Pediatrics Volune 135, number 5 , May 2015. Lead author is Cynthia D. Devore. It may help you make your case.

Nope, I was advised when I started this job to never give in to the teacher's cries and do head checks like that. And I don't.
