Leno's show

Nurses General Nursing

Published

This was origanally on another post, but I felt it deserved it's own post It's no wonder the public gets the idea that we are handmaidens. Did anyone see Jay Leno last night? One of his "jokes" was that he had seen on CNN that there was a nursing shortage. And we can't do without nurses, because without nurses there would be no more Media movies. Someone originally posted this and i could'nt believe it I have written to NBC and complained about it....everyone here should do the same! [email protected] is the email.....lets be heard!!!

Hi all,

I have added my voice to all of yours and wrote to Mr. Leno and Mr. Letterman. I have also passed this info along to all of the nurses I have emails for.

I am considering writing his advertisers too..

Better late than never I guess..

Actually I have watched the Leno show from time to time. I will not any longer! I did send my email.

I emailed Leno and asked for a public apology. But I don't watch the show. I hope someone will be kind enough to post his apology, should he give one. I won't hold my breath.

Ok, the joke itself may have been distasteful but let me come to Jay's defense here. Yesterday at work, who shows up on my floor to visit someone (I won't elaborate as to who) but none other than Jay Leno himself! We weren't really sure how to greet him given the circumstances but Jay made an effort to greet us all and let us know how much he appreciated our hard work. He came right into our breakroom and talked with us all briefly. We had him laughing when we offered him some doughnuts a family had brought in and he said "No thanks, I don't need to end up here after a heart attack" and someone said, "well just look at the publicity Dave got after his!"

The funniest part of the day was seeing the suprised look on patient's, visitors, and the occasional paramedic crew to see Jay Leno walking down the hall!

So while he made a mistake by telling that joke, rest assured that Jay **DOES** appreciate nurses and everything we do.
