Hi! I created a thread for those applying to the nursing program in 2022.
@Miquelia103 Hello. Unfortunately for Fall 2022 it’s too late, but if you get in touch with the nursing advisor she will give you the exact date as to when you can submit your application for Fall 2023. For us it had to be submitted in January. Congratulations on passing the HESI! I wish you the best of luck!

Lehman college Accelerated nursing major?
im planning to take their prereqs this fall but IDK what to apply as a transfer student
Accelerated is for those students who already have a bachelors degree in another major. If you do not then you would apply as a traditional/generic nursing major.
OK, I am NOT the final word on this at ALL. Obviously, you need to go through the school, but I know that can be frustrating. I will say this- I transferred in. I will start the nursing program in the Fall. I looked on my CUNY first just now and it just says, "undergraduate" (and I have a masters degree in another field -LOL), but basically, when you finish you will have a BSN so you are a science major or pre-nursing if either of those are a choice. I wouldn't worry about it to much, just make sure you are taking the RIGHT pre-reqs and they will tweak that when they need to and you are closer to applying.

The nursing program doesn't really want much to do with you (they are so overwhelmed) until all your ducks are in a row and you look serious and capable on paper. You need a HESI score over 90 and a GPA over 3.5 in the pre-reqs if you want to be MOSTLY sure you will get in. I'm sure they talk to too many people that don't meet the requirements and that wastes their time until you do your part fully. Once you have your student/emplid ID, email Donna Covington with your emplid number in the subject line and ask for AN APPOINTMENT. If the info you are looking for is on the website, she won't answer you. So read it several times-ALL of it.
Last advice- do NOT take Microbiology and Lehman. DO NOT. No good teachers and they make it way harder than it has to be. People weep-LOL. Take that at BCC. Hear me- take Micro at BCC. Message me directly if you want to the link for pre-nursing chat...if there is room. It goes in and out of being full.

I went to City MD today but the provider who took care of me didn’t want to do it even though I told her multiple times that, that is what was said during nursing orientation. I did get the quantiferon done and it should be enough. Just to be on the safe side I will call the nursing department tomorrow, and if they still insist then I will look for another urgent care to go to.
Crissy- you got this settled? Right? I got you in the Nursing class chat, right? It is my understanding you HAVE to do the quantitative test. NOT ppd. If your quantitative is neg then NO chest xray is necessary.

Or has anyone here got in with a low GPA but high HESI score, could that makeup for a lower GPA?
The nursing dept only takes the first letter grade received by a course.
For example, if you took BIO181 (A&P 1) and received a C- and decided to retake and later received an A, they will only consider the C-.
It honestly seems as though they focus more on high GPA and a passing HESI score (75% and up cumulative and 75% in each category - Math, Reading comprehension, A&P And at least 900 in Critical thinking).
