Lehman College RN Transition to Practice Program

Published

Wondering if there is anyone who has has applied and been accepted into this program?

Hi CheerfulRN,

I have been accepted for Feb-July 2016. And yes it's worse it. If you don't screw up hospitals hire you after completion. I know some nurses who got hired.

Hi CheerfulRN,

I have also been accepted along with Igueva, however, i accepted a job offer with a different hospital outside of the RN-TTP program instead. As a new grad it was very difficult to find a nursing job especially in the saturated NYC market. It is definitely worth completing the program since the opportunities out there are scarce. The program allows you to add RN experience to your resume while having a very high chance of receiving a job offer in the end.

If you are accepted into the program and find your self with a job offer somewhere else before the program ends, the program is really good with accommodating you and your goals. They only ask for a 15 day withdrawal notice. So my suggestion to you is to apply to the program that way you have a back up plan while also applying to other jobs you desire.

Thank you guys for your responses and congrats to both of you on being accepted and even finding a job along the way, NurseRuzzy. What units did you get into and what do you think helped you to stand out among others?

I got into the Ortho unit at Mt. Sinai Beth Israel. I don't really know what made me stand out among others but i was told by the manager that she chose me because she liked my previous hospital experience on my resume.

I got into med/surg infectious diseases BI.

That's very helpful. You probably had your orientations by now, about how many people were accepted by Lehman and BI?

Around 25 i think in orientation and 2 (igueva and i) at BI. Most people were placed in the other hospitals
