Okay, thank you so much!

Hi Everyone,

Kudos to you all that have helped put up information here.

I have a question too almost similar to the latest. I also don't have a 3.5 science GPA but do have above 3.0 ( I have a first degree already). The last i met a pre nursing advisor she said i could apply for accelerated. Seeing all the comments here makes me worried. I don't know if she advised based on me already having almost all prerequisites or not. I will be takin Organic Chemistry lab in spring and would really love to know what my chances are.

Also can anyone please help me calculate my science grade again, i just want to be sure I am doing it the right way.

Here are my Grades:

A&P 1: A
A&P 2: B
Microbiology: A
Inorganic Chemistry Lab: B
Organic Chemistry: B
Inorganic Chemistry: C

The program will not consider your overall gpa. Just the science gpa. And inorganic chemistry doesn’t apply. Or do u mean general chemistry? The advisor will tell you to apply for accelerated because if you don’t get accepted for that u have a possibility for be bumped to general. It’s a semester longer. I still say apply because it’s free to apply and u may have a chance. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. Yes Inorganic is General Chemistry. I see alt of science GPA's above 3.7 and it just makes me wonder if I stand a chance.

I will go ahead and still apply and hope I get in.

Have you taken all your classes at Lehman? This program is extremely hard to get into, and yes 90% of the students that are accepted are pretty much 3.6 and higher. But it is all a chance. I got in with a 3.5 and a 3.9 overall. But my hesi scores were really good. Just need to have faith and hope and pray you get in. Just make sure your last class for the pre reqs needed you get an A.

No I didn't take all my classes at Lehman. I have foreign Undergraduate degree where I took my chemistry classes and then A&P and Nursing prerequisites I took University of Houston.

I am thinking if i should take HIN 269 this Spring to see if it will boost my overall GPA. I don't know if it helps at all. I was told to only take Organic Chem Lab because that was the only class they couldn't transfer for me.

Ok. Well I had taken HIN 269 with permission before I was even in the program. And my grade of an A was what also helped my chances of getting in. It’s hard to get permission. But if anything let them know that the class would help get you financial aid. Maybe university of Houston classes can be weighted and can be looked at in a different perspective. But I think you should speaker to Dr. Judith Dyer. She is an awesome and honest person.

I did get permission to take HIN 269 at first and then after I went back to see Ms Donna for the pre nursing advisement she said there was no need to take the HIN it until i get into the program. looking at the application form, it's like the HIN 268 and 269 are not calculated when calculating science GPA. If they do i would take the HIN 269 and that should help.

I don't see Dr Dyer on the list of nursing advisors. Please provide me with more details on how to book an appointment with her.

Thank you so much for your time and assistance.

Hi,

I got HiN 269 permission but I could not register the class because of Lehman computer system seemed having a problem. I wanted to take it because I want to save sometimes to study for major class. My friends who are already in the programs recommend it to take it.

A&P 1, B+

A&P 2, A-

Micro Bio A

Chem & Organic Chem A

Hesi, Reading comprehension 84

Meth 82

A& P 92

C& T 93

I am little bit slow person for preparing nursing application form.

I am already a Lehman student since 2018. When I called Lehman nursing department, the advisor told me I must attach my transcription with that form. ( I was from LaGuardia CC ) It also internal for Cuny. I am confused for preparing the form.

Hello 2019 Cohort!

I am applying to the accelerated program this January for admission to the 2020 cohort. I recently took my HESI and wanted to throw my stats up here and ask some experienced folks if I have a shot at the accelerated program.

prereq gpa: 4.0

HESI: 94.5

CT: 840

if anyone is reading this, you’ve probably ascertained that my concern is with my critical thinking score. I know it depends on the cohort, but to your knowledge, were there any accelerated folks in your cohort with CT scores between 800 and 840? Any comments would be incredibly helpful!

Thanks

Your stats are amazing and congratulations. As long as you got a 75 and above in all subjects on hesi and above 800 in CT which you have you will have a chance. Good Luck. Just make sure all your paper work was handed in on time and have all documents with it. Anything missing will delay the decision.

As far as your scores, they are great. You can print out the unofficial transcript and hand it in with your application. That’s no worries. Just make sure you go through the check list of all documents needed to hand in with the application. You don’t need it to be delayed because your missing something. Best of luck. And it’s not easy to get permission for HIN 269, they will most likely deny it because they need to give it to those who are in the program first. If there is available space it will be given to those first con first serve. Good luck on getting 269 and getting accepted to the program.
