Hi everyone,

I just stumbled across this forum and wanted to say hello!

I have been an LNC since 1997.

Lori

I was hired by a defense firm. Worked there 2yrs, then flipped over to the plaintiff side. I was wanting to see what it was like to work each side and use my 'education' working both sides to be able to appreciate each side. Enjoyed all of it immensely. I also was able to get to know the lawfirms, attys, etc and when i left the plaintiff side after 3yrs, i knew enough atty's in the metroplex area that i contacted them, told them i was on my own, and they started trickling cases to me to review and assist them in determining whether they had a case....OR ....assisting them in defending their case. ALERT !!!!! YOU HAD BETTER MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR P'S AND Q'S SQUARED AWAY IN THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST AND FIND YOURSELF WORKING FOR ONE SIDE AND THEN THE ATTY'S FOR THE OTHER SIDE ASK YOU FOR ASSISTANCE. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL, OR IT WILL BE CURTAINS FOR YOU AS AN LNC.....not to mention totally screwing the case from BOTH sides. I'm still loving it and though i';m not making 150.00 per hour as VM says you can, i charge about half of that and the atty's love me because i do good work and do it cheaper than other LNC's. Go for it!

Can I get legal opinions from this thread?

Hello, bmoore,

For personal gain? No.

Not from me....I am not an attorney. You should only get advice from an atty...(now doesn't that sound like typical attorney advice to you???

To houseboundand hopeful: Have you thought about doing Case Management for an insurance company that deals with worker's compensation?

They usually have alot of attorney's involved within their company.

It's hard to find Case Mgrs for Worker's comp.

I thought about doing the LNC as well, but V. Milazzo course is overpriced and every extra thing you do is more money.

I live in Calif. and we have an LNC course, that is ABA approved through one of the university out here....looks like it takes about a year.
