Lee College Fall 2016

Published

Hey everyone!! Just wanted to stop by and ask if there is anybody out there that is applying to Lee College in Baytown for the ADN program in the fall.

Lee just has me so nervous because they are so unorganized. And they are not nice if you call to ask any questions. I went in about a month ago, to take in my blue card and I asked who I should send my Hesi transcript scores too, and got the information about the Critical Thinking portion. She told me to email Ms. Shrock about the Hesi, so I did, and got an auto reply that she was out until the end of the month. Well, I didn't have any other e-mail addresses, so I emailed the only one listed on the site, which was the director. Apparently, that is frowned upon because Ms. Bea emailed me back and told me Ms. Shrock was checking her emails (like I was supposed to know that) and that I was still under review and needed to wait until they evaluate my outside course work and blah blah blah. I tried explaining to them that my transcripts from LoneStar are in the system but whoever checks the mail for admissions needs to be fired, because they lost my other one TWICE. So i had to reorder it so I could hand deliver it, I just got it today, so I'm taking it in first thing Monday morning. Then, Ms. Shrock emailed me back asking me to send my Hesi transcripts to her and to call the nursing office to schedule my critical thinking portion. So I called the next day, and Ms. Bea YELLED at me saying "you have done this and this and that, but what you haven't done is be patient and wait to be told what to do". I said "uhmm... this is what I was told to do. Ms. Schrock emailed me and told me to call to schedule the critical thinking portion." So then she put Ms. Shrock on the phone, who was much nicer and told me to just be patient they haven't reviewed my files yet. And I explained to her my concerns with what they would be able to see if my transcripts havent been uploaded while they wait on the second one. She told me to call admissions and tell them to make sure the ones they have are uploaded and hand carry a copy to the nursing office. But, honestly, I am scared lol. I don't want to annoy them so bad, that they just shred my file!

I have an Associate in Arts

I have complete the degree plan for and Associate in Science

My core curriculum is complete

Every class for a BSN is complete other than the RNSG courses

My GPA is a 3.6

My Hesi scores were :

Reading: 86%

Grammar: 92%

Vocabulary and General Knowledge: 94%

English: 90%

Biology: 76%

Chemistry: 80%

Anatomy and Physiology: 80%

Math:98%

Cumulative Score: 86.57%

** Could anyone enlighten me on what scores on the Hesi Lee looks at?**

Im taking Pharmacology and Pathophysiology this summer

I just don't know I am so worried that I am just going to be overlooked :(

As of now the only summer classes are for the transition students that start in the spring. Generic ADNS take fundamentals/Med Surg 1 in the fall, and the fall transitions take a transition course. Then they all take Med Surg 2 and Pedi in the spring, off summer, OB and Psych in the fall, Critical Care and management in the last spring semester. There are 2 class days a week and one clinical day. Each class is 8 weeks, and in the beginning of each 8 weeks, you will have one or two weeks of having class 4 long days of lab checkoffs and lecture, then after that your 2 class days and clinical starts. Hope this helps

Mrs. Bea is actually really helpful, she just has a lot on her plate!

Thanks so much for the info. I anxious to start.

Oh I am sure! When I spoke to her in person she was very nice, understanding and helpful. But when I spoke to her on the phone, she just acted like I was making up what and when I supposed to do things, and I wasn't being patient. I kept telling her that I was e-mailed to call and schedule the critical thinking portion, but she just wasn't understanding.

Congrats hope to see you there for Fall 2016!! I'm still waiting to hear from them I called last week and was told I should receive and call sometime this week. I'm so nervous!!! Ms.Nicole said she will schedule my hesi but in the information session it was said you could be accepted and then be asked to take the hesi. How did they tell you that you were accepted if you don't mind me asking? Thanks in advance GOD bless

I'm curious as well. What criteria do they look for when reviewing your folder? I don't want to call and ask anymore questions because it seems like it aggravates them. But I just want clarification that I have done everything on my part that needs to be done. That's why I wanted to get the critical thinking portion of the HESI done, I don't see a reason in procrastinating, you know? I also have a 2 and 3 year old that I will have to make child care arrangements for if I am accepted, and that takes time.

Dadzsgirl, i was called by Nicole last Thursday she asked if i was still interested in the nursing program said yes she said congratulation you're accepted. My Hesi was done at another school and just had it sent there.

How exciting Congrats again!!! I hope and pray to GOD I'm in the program too I already have a Associates Degree in Arts and I took pharm at Lee last semester and got a B. I'm just waiting now...í ½í¸¯

Joanasc, to confirm you were called for the ADN program starting in the Fall?

I don't know with certainty what they look for but i firmly believe that with Lee applying in very early is key as soon as they open the application period submmit your application. I have all classes completed including the BSN pre, reqs and Hesi was also done. I am just waiting to go pick up my package.

I applied extremely early and Ms.Nicole told me she would call me for testing to just be patient.
