Hello Ladies,

Sorry for disrupting. But, I'm trying to get into the ADN program at Lee for Fall 2012. I was told there was not an entrance exam. Also, did anyone take Pharmacology online? If so, would you recommend taking it online or in person?

Thanks.

There is not a entrance exam in the traditional sense, but you do have to take the HESI entrance--however, the hesi is taken after you are accepted and doesn't effect you getting in. If you do poorly you might be asked to retake A&P.

As far as Pharm. I would suggest taking it in person and nothing else hard with it. Pharm is a really hard class!!! I have a 4.0 gpa and can usually breeze threw courses without even opening a book, but Pharm requires a GREAT deal of reading and critical thinking. I took Pharm with 3 really easy other classes and pulled out a 96!! but the first time I took it with A&P II and Microbiology and had to drop after week 3! The first test covers 9 chapters and you have 2 wks to read and be ready for a test, and then its 5 chapters to read then a quiz a wk later, then read 4 more chapters and be ready for a test over all 9 chapters the next wk and this is how the entire semester goes! Plus after the first test you will start doing drug cards and those things take forever to fill out and you have to remember what the drugs are and what they are for and there is 13 drugs on the first list, but it jumps up to 30 drugs on test 3,4&5. Then the final is cumulative and you are expected to know all the drugs you covered. Pharm is really time consuming and the test will have 4 options= 2 wrong and 2 right, you have to pick the BEST right answer!! Iwould take Pharm alone or with that ITSC computer class or another super simple course because you will need every moment to read or write drug cards!! Good Luck!! :)

Thanks rachsmc29 for the advice. Going to take Pharm, Chem, & Spanish altoghether. I hope all goes well. The only part I can say I'm really nervous about on the Hesi is the vocabualry part. Good luck & thanks again.

Hello guys:) I am back again! Thanks tinknurse2b (all late) lol. I see everybody has been getting their supplies ready to go! I need to jump on it. Have any of you guys checked out the new medical store inside the Baytown SanJacinto mall?? I haven't yet... Well anyways guys really hope to meet yall soon:) Enjoy the rest of the summer!!

i just went to the medical supply store yesterday, they have white uniforms for cheap but they are not flattering :)

precise: good luck!! Spanish is soooo easy, but I hear Chem is a challenging course. But if you going to take it take it with **** b/c **** is not good at explaining material. Have you taken Nutrition, Sociology, ITSC, or Medical Math?? all of those classes are super easy and required for BSN--except the med math.

The online pharm class required a lot of time to study also but very doable. The website called Allheart has cute white uniforms. The website also has inexpensive nurse kits. The kits include an aneroid blood pressure monitor and the stethoscope for 14 dollars.

rachsmc29: yes, i've taken all my prerequisites for my bsn, except chem.

i'm actually taking my chem at hcc. i left this one for last because i find it nerve wacking. i'm going to go ahead and do pharm online, due to pharm is only offer in the mornings & i work so, that is the only option i have. do you know how many students are accepted in the adn program per year?

130 students per year is what I heard but that could be wrong :)

okay, thanks alot:) I'm just worry I wont get in (bet you know how that feels) lol

I was wondering what made you choose an ADN program instead of a BSN program?
