Hi OP,
I am getting out of bedside nursing, well nursing all together. I am working with the VA through the Voc Rehab program. My end goal is to work in healthcare legislation, policy, and maybe even consulting. I am in school for my MHA, I went for my MSN for a year and transferred. There are plenty of positions that I have seen for administrative nursing, many do require at lest 5 years of bedside experience and a BSN or MSN, but I am not interested in it. I have met a few nurses who became medical coders and they make more money than I do as a bedside nurse, though they are in a different region of the country. But they also work from home in underwear with a glass of wine, so I would say their work environment is pretty great.

Hi all,
I have been working as an inpatient bedside nurse for 5 years (I did med surg for 3 and labor and delivery for 2 years). I am feeling burnt out and am looking to leave bedside nursing/ 12 hour shifts. However, I have absolutely no idea what I would want to do. My question is, what non-bedside nursing job do you work? Do you enjoy it? Any advice would be helpful!
Thanks in advance,
Jenny
