Leave my job?

I started my nursing career about 16 mOnths ago on a 36 bed unit with tele/ progressive care/ cardiac icu PTs in a large level one trauma center and teaching facility. After about 9 mo of tele patients I was trained in icu patients which was my ultimate goal. However the icu nurses on the floor are the type who "eat their young" and I'm really not liking my new icu coworkers. I also really hate the pt population as an inner city hosPital and commute almost an hour to get to work. I saw openings at a smaller community hospital much closer that has icu openings. I only have a couple months icu experience on my own and in that time occasionally get tele pts as well. Do I suck it up and try tO stay to get more experience or apply for this new position. Really confused and need advice on hOw long to stay! Thanks!

you could always apply. i get that not everyone has the same preferences but it always makes me sad when people disparage the inner city population. i drive almost two hours to the large inner city hospital where i get incredible learning experiences and work with many shining stars of the academic/medical community, things i wouldn't get in a little community hospital.

Not trying to Put down that population. I've learned a lot that I wouldn't have gotten to experience. I've also gotten punched in the face by a patient and put up with a lot of crap at work that just isn't for me.
