I have the feeling from all the posts I've read on various boards is that friends are sometimes the best way to get through clinicals. With that in mind I was curious if anyone else is starting at LCCC for Spring 2014. Also, from being in the position of fretting and nail biting about getting in I would like to share my experience.
I've been in the pool a year this coming November and this semester is the last of my prereqs, I'm taking AP2 and Stats. I saw a counselor a couple of weeks ago and he told me that in his experience nobody gets in unless their application is a year old and all their prereqs are done. With the unknown status of Tri-C these days I figured I would just wait until November, which is when he said letters would be sent for Spring of next year, so imagine my surprise when I got a little postcard in the mail on Thursday!
Keep with it folks, it's not impossible.

Well that doesn't make any sense. I applied in August of 2012. I have a 3.7 GPA and I only have Micro left to take. (I broke my classes up because i didn't want to sit for an entire year with no classes to take) And was told there's no way I'll be getting in for Spring 2012. I'll be making a call on Monday that's for sure. Because after micro I have NOTHING left to take, that includes all classes for my BSN. I have all them completed. Frustrating. I thought they went by application date.
Sorry I meant no way I'd get in for spring 2014.
Did you find out anything? Are you in Micro now by chance or are you taking it in the Fall? I was in the same boat, my last two prereqs are this term and after that I had nothing but BSN classes. Out of curiosity who did you talk to, because whichever one it is that they let you see immediately..I think that's the counselor maybe..don't have a clue and there are only two advisers for the program. Hope you get some answers!

My friend got in for spring '14 as well, this is the first time they've sent letters out so early, normally they would go out in November. Congrats and good luck, I am graduating on Saturday! It's hard, but it's doable. :)
I think it's a much better idea to send them out early, less stress overall. Congratulations on finishing up the program!
I think people are going to go to orientation next week and forget a bunch of stuff and cause a lot of grief for the office staff come December.
Lol hopefully not, I go on Wednesday but you did just remind me that I should probably bring my tape recorder so thank you for that.
I will be there in the afternoon session on Wed for the portion where you get to ask other students/new grads questions. :)
