  1. I was laying here thinking, reflecting on the past couple years and realized that maybe my experiences could help someone. I was in school for years, I started off in the RN program and failed with one semester remaining. From there I bridged to the LPN program and graduated in 2016 and was able to bridge back to the RN which I just finished last month. It was probably the most stressful thing I have ever done in my life and even now it's hard to recover from the impact it has had on my life. I cut back on work for my last semester which put me in financial trouble but paid off since I ended up passing. I know at least a few instructors snub their noses at me because of repeating classes and what not so unfortunately I had no support from them. My parents just didn't understand especially since I was the first one to go to college in my family. When I finish school last month it was the happiest I think I had been in some time but I found my spirits were dampened when it felt like no one else really cared. My younger sister and my dad chose to go to a concealed carry class instead of attending my graduation, there was no party or cake or anything like that. Even my girlfriend couldn't seem to find a way to make it to probably the most important day of my life. It still stings and makes me sad but I am comforted knowing that I didn't do it for any of those people. I did it for myself, for the patients I saw suffering and so I can make a difference. I just wanted to send a message out into the void for those who are struggling, You Are Not Alone and you can do the things even when other people try to bring you down. Never give up, never surrender.
  2. Same boat only I took mine Oct. 1st and have been refreshing CONSTANTLY between the BON site and quick review because maybe it will be up sooner? Lol I don't know I just wanna know already. I also got the good PVT pop up. I really hope it doesn't take the full 48 hours
  3. So I've been out of school for two weeks or so and I actually start back to a LPN to RN bridge next Monday at the same school. A group of us were granted permission to start the transition with the condition that we have to have passed our boards before the second 8 week class begins in the semester. All of this boils down to having to take the NCLEX PN in September, ie the earliest possible time assuming the BON gets their stuff together. Anyhow, in my program in order to graduate LPN you have to take an exit HESI exam where the grade counts as your final exam. I ended up getting a 1033 much to my surprise because d/t time frame I didn't get to study much aside from the mandatory two day live review that made me want to claw my eyes out. I have the workbook given in that class and the newest Saunders NCLEX PN as far as books and I've been using this app that I believe is called NCLEX PN Mastery to take questions whenever I can. Aside from this are there any recommendations from those who have taken the exam somewhat recently? Did you find the HESI helped at all and did your score translate to the NCLEX...in other words same style questions on both? Any advice would be more than welcome! Thanks!
  4. Thank you for the suggestion, I had my fingers crossed but no luck. I'm seriously debating making the over 2 hour trip to the Ohio board but I'm worried I won't be able to get help there either.
  5. I'm losing my mind. I graduate in a week and a half and like many others I have a checklist of items to follow in order to get my license. So I follow the directions and apply to Ohio's BON site and fill out my application...everything is good at this point...I finish and go to click payment and there is nothing to pull down from the menu box so I can't pay the fee for my application. I can see my application if I look at the dashboard and the status says Generate Fee but I cannot pay. I e-mailed the board on Friday and called on Monday but got an answering machine and I have yet to hear from anyone. Has anyone ever just gone to the physical address? Can I actually do that? I just want to give them my money because I literally cannot complete my fingerprinting and whatnot until my application is submitted.
  6. Lol hopefully not, I go on Wednesday but you did just remind me that I should probably bring my tape recorder so thank you for that.
  7. I think it's a much better idea to send them out early, less stress overall. Congratulations on finishing up the program!
  8. Did you find out anything? Are you in Micro now by chance or are you taking it in the Fall? I was in the same boat, my last two prereqs are this term and after that I had nothing but BSN classes. Out of curiosity who did you talk to, because whichever one it is that they let you see immediately..I think that's the counselor maybe..don't have a clue and there are only two advisers for the program. Hope you get some answers!
  9. I have the feeling from all the posts I've read on various boards is that friends are sometimes the best way to get through clinicals. With that in mind I was curious if anyone else is starting at LCCC for Spring 2014. Also, from being in the position of fretting and nail biting about getting in I would like to share my experience. I've been in the pool a year this coming November and this semester is the last of my prereqs, I'm taking AP2 and Stats. I saw a counselor a couple of weeks ago and he told me that in his experience nobody gets in unless their application is a year old and all their prereqs are done. With the unknown status of Tri-C these days I figured I would just wait until November, which is when he said letters would be sent for Spring of next year, so imagine my surprise when I got a little postcard in the mail on Thursday! Keep with it folks, it's not impossible.
