LBCC Fall 2020

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello future nurses,

I haven't seen anyone make a thread for LBCC for Fall of 2020 so I decided to make one. We should talk here about our statistics and just questions overall.

So to whoever applied, what were your stats?

My stats:

3.66 pre-req GPA & 3.98 GPA.

TEAS: 87.3% (even though they don't account this)

I really hope I get in. I am usually not good with lotteries in general ?

I did email Marc at the beginning of April and he told me they would be sending notifications out late May.

Before the pandemic, the plan was to hear back from LBCC towards the end of April/ Beginning of May through the e-mail you supplied on your application. Don't know if LBCC will be postponing yet but most likely....

Someone on this thread said they emailed Marc and he said they are aiming for late May. Someone on another thread said they heard it was early June. So I guess around that time.

WOW!. CONGRATS on such great stats! You made it within the 3.5 range so thats more of a chance for you to get in! Is this your first time applying?

It's a lottery anyways so it's pure luck. But you so have a higher chance because you're within the good GPA range.

Yes. This lottery deal makes me so nervous. Someone could have top tier grades but still have no assurance that they’ll get in. I hope we all get in.

Has anyone heard back yet for Fall 2020 RN program?

Not yet. Probably somewhere around late May to early June.

Glad they aren't pushing it back too much. if only there was an update from LAHC

this is my first time applying at lbcc, but I have been trying to get into a nursing program for three years now. I do hope to get in! I already got rejected from two other schools ? I have my phlebotomy license and had a voluntary internship at a hospital (300+ hours). I also took an advanced Spanish class and other things that other nursing schools account for. it is just so frustrating because I keep getting rejected ?

What other schools have you applied to? This is my first time applying to nursing schools and I am so nervous! I finished all of my pre-reqs last Fall.

Pre-req GPA: 2.62 (Planning on retaking microbio this Summer!)

This is my 3rd time applying, I believe.

Have you applied anywhere other than LBCC?

This is my second time applying! This school is my backup as I already been accepted to others. Hopefully we hear some good news soon!

Hello, I havent heard anything either. Not sure if they're to email or send via regular mail.

I applied to Palomar, Grossmont, College of the Canyons, Chaffey College, and Imperial Valley. I got rejected from Mira Costa and Fresno City College already. I would have applied to more schools, but it is just expensive to send my transcripts (I did some college classes during HS and my prereqs were at another college) and TEAS scores everywhere since it all adds up. If all else fails, I will be going to Cal State Northridge to do Medical Technology as a backup. It sucks being rejected, but I am trying to keep my hopes up!

That can definitely be a thing! You can get your Bachelor's and then go for ABSN if you want to. There's so many ways to getting a nursing degree and I am positive you already have your pre-reqs done anyway.

CONGRATS on being accepted to other schools! That must be really exciting for you! Do you start in the Fall?
