Lawson State PN Fall 2015

U.S.A. Alabama

Hello,

I'm new to Lawson State and I'm in great need of some answers. Does anyone have any experience/knowledge with this program? I'm in the process of ordering uniforms for the semester and I'm curious about how many sets are needed. What supplies from the schools selected uniform site are needed? Also, any advice to successfully complete the program is absolutely appreciated.

Thanks!

You're welcome Shunrn

Omg did u get the letter from Lawson. There won't be any students admited for summer. They are changing their program.

yes a girl I have class with told me about 3 weeks they were going to do that. I wonder how many people are they going to accept now that a lot of people are going to try and apply for the fall now?

So basically after the 3rd semester you get a Lpn degree and in 2 more semesters you get a rn degree? Is that right?

LPN is 3 and RN is 5 so yes you would have to reapply for the RN program after you finish your LPN

I don't know what all the changes they are going to make towards the program in the future.

Are you going straight for RN? I want to go straight through RN

Rn program only. Hopefully we will hear something soon

Hey ladies, I am currently in the RN program. The changes for the new program means that you will not declare LPN or RN until the end of third semester. You can take your boards for LPN and continue on through to RN if you would like. Or you can just take boards and come back after a year of working as LPN up to you. Also the curriculum will be concept based instead of systems based that we have. After the fall 16 class they will only accept ACT test scores and not the TEAS. LPN and RN will be in class together. They have phased out the pharmacology class and now it will be taught along with Fundamental Concepts. Any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Lstratman I went to the info session and thats what I heard. But was unsure about the pharmacology class. I did hear that they wasnt going to go over a lot of decimals and fractions in the new class. Could you tell me if they will still cover how to drug calculations? i am not able to take the class that they are now offering so I am studying how to do it while I wait to see if I get in. Thank you

Yes Shonta05 they will cover it in class. Its pretty basic so I wouldn't stress about it

Ok. A lot of nursing students make it seem like its really hard. Im doing practice test now for the summer.
