WestCoastRN 13 Posts Apr 13, 2005 You can go to www.usnews.com to order a copy of 2006 version of graduate program ranking. You are given instant online access plus a paper copy of the magazine. I forgot how much it costed me when I ordered 2005 report, I guess it was about $19.95.Is it possible to share with us the CRNA program ranking if you want to purchase it and don't mind let us know the recent ranking? Also pay attention whether the ranking is updated to current year. The 2005 report I have still contains results of 2003.Anybody seen them? I can't even find an issue in the backcountry stores.Thank you.
Medic14 34 Posts Apr 13, 2005 I've seen those rankings as well, Does the full version detail how the rankings were determined, what was the criteria. Also, would like to know if the schools had to pay a fee to be evaluated or considered, kinda of buying a ranking if you will.Just curious, too cheap to spent the money to look at 5 rankings of CRNA schools.Would also be interested if someone had more info.Last that I knew the rankings went: 2003, probably the same for 20041. Virginia Comm Univer.2. US Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing (Ft. Sam Houston, TX)3. Navy Nurse Corps (MD) Rush Univer. (IL)I would believe the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) Nurse Anesthesia program is up there as well, the Army Program and USUHS are parallel. Major difference is location -USUHS in Maryland, Army in Texas. Also, unique is that at USUHS all books are paid for to include PDA and other assesories.
Laughing Gas 124 Posts Apr 14, 2005 Those rankings are usually bogus. Program directors are usually polled. People who may not otherwise have a bias usually vote for a name that they recognize. They may know little about the programs. I know of one program that has had 98 to 100% boards pass rate for about 9 years now and is usually ranked behind schools whose rate is in the 80's.Don't believe the hype.

The people who are polled are Program Directors, Deans of Nursing, etc. It really has nothing to do with with schools having the highest academic rating. As Laughing Gas said there are schools that are ranked low that have some of the highest board pass rates and higest average board scores.DreamMatrix

My program has had a 100% pass rate and is not one of the very top schools ranked. Go to whatever school you feel is the best. DreamMatrix
