  1. Just got done being an SRNA...and yes...I probably am.
  2. WHen I worked in ICU we routinely removed central lines.
  3. Ok, so I passed boards...now it's time to consider going on for more education. I'm not sure how to approach my desire to continue my insane education. I am contemplating an MBA...maybe a PhD. Has anyone ever gonne to Walden University? They are an accredited online university. Just wondering what other people had heard about them. Are they worth it?
  4. I really hope it is few than 10 days..but I guess you have to wait sometimes. I have a question. I have a classmate who has a future co-worker who stated that when he took boards he could log onto the members section and after the name of the member if you had passed it said CRNA. What does anyone know about this? I guess, my question is whether I can find out an extra day in advance or something. ANyh ideas?
  5. OK, I took the exam today. I took 90 questions. I understand that is good for the passing end. Has anyone ever met anyone who took the test, it shut off at 90, and they failed?
  6. If propofol is a better drug, cost should not be an issue. Cost should not be the main issue, patient care should. Just my speech.
  7. I have heard (and not recently )that propofol has been shown to cause significant fetal sedation. I have never used propofol, don't know. Just what I heard.
  8. A LOT is politics. However, I think I will agree that the idea of a team approach with OHR and some of those huge cases is not a bad idea, even if its 2 ologists or a CRNA and an ologist. AAA, livers, CABG, can all turn real bad real fast. However, I can tell you as a student coming out, I have probably 2 times the experience with CABG and OB than the residents I worked with. Probably just the hospital I came from, but that's my experience.
  9. I LOVE the MIller. BUt there are definitely times where I can't see with the Miller. I feel pretty competent with both, but sometimes it just depends on the patient. Small mouth opening, probably a MAC for me. C-spines, I usually just go to the FOB. Trauma, MAC and inline stabilization. ANyway...that's me.
  10. I'm taking tomorrow OFF. Nothing school related. I'm hoping to work out, get some stuff done go shopping, eat our with my mom. But I"m still nervous. I take the test on Friday. If anyone is a believer in a high power, please pray for me.
  11. I just glanced over the conversation here. I think there needs to be a differentiation in this conversation about a PhD vs a DNP. They are two different degrees with two different objectives (from what I understand). The AACN and AANA are not even discussing a PhD option, they are discussing a DNP option. Just for clarification. Hopefully I clarified correctly ;)
  12. Ok, I have less than 48 hours prior to my boards. I have watched many GRNAs get on this website and vocalize their concerns about boards...now its my turn. I did Valley...I went through the stuff between three and four times, I read Morgan and Mikhail back to front and Baby Miller. I'm either prepared or I'm not. I took the Mock Boards last night and got did ok. Does anyone have any suggestions as how to mentally prepare for these things. I'm getting the GI symptoms and I can't sleep. I think I'll probably do ok. I have been studying for like 6 months. HELP. [mouse]:uhoh21: [/mouse] In addition, how long did it take for some of you to receive your results? They say 4 weeks in the pamphlet. I'll die if its really that long. Last years class was like a week. What is your experience?
  13. Oh please please please please...someone stop this stupid debate that will never be over. Mediator...could you please stop the maddness!!!!!!
