Hi, want to wait til I get the kiddie off to college before trying out travel nursing? Is this a good idea? Will I be as marketable then? Will it be harder in any way you can think of?

Thanks!

I say go for it, it's never too late for anything. I've been traveling for a year, and have met many travel nurses, both young and old. If anything, you will be more marketable with your age and I'm assuming experience. I recommend MedStaff, call 1-800-732-9992 ext.244 ask for Michael Graham, please tell him Amy Lockwood referred you, you won't be disappointed, good luck.

My youngest graduates from high school im May. I have 25+ years in all aspects of nursing. I need info on how to start traveling. How do you find a decent agency. Which ones are the best? What about pay, bonus, benefits etc. Can anyone help me out? I have done some research and have a list of about 50 or so travel agencies for nurses. Where do I start? lakeRN

Let me assure you that you have just begun your journey in Travel Nursing. There is indeed lots of information to sort through. I began my "traveller" experiences last year. Not knowing which Travel Agency to enlist with or "which way to go" can be overwhelming. Fortunately, I am working in Maryland and have been given the wonderful opportunity of sharing my experiences and information as a Recruiter, and also continuing my experience as a "traveller". If you would like to know more, please email me. It's my belief that "nurses can help nurses". Hope to hear from you soon. Best of luck. ([email protected])

I need advice

I, too, have decided to give traveling nursing a whirl. I found a great bulletin board for traveling nurses at delphi.com/travelnurses I have learned so much from reading the posts. I'm planning to go June, 2001. Good Luck and HAPPY TRAVELING!

It is never to old to do anything in life whether it be starting a new education, a new hobby, marriage. I'm over 50 and I am on my first travel assignment. :yeah:
