Last semester of pre reqs

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

So this morning I put in my application for RN program at Northwest. This fall is my last semester of pre-reqs. Micro, Micro lab and College Algebra as well as filler courses for the associate's degree is on my list this semester.

I'm so flipping nervous. Seriously they changed the admission protocol from the Kaplan to a point based system. If I can't get in for Spring 2016 I'll more than likely get in for Fall 2016. However the elephant in the room is waiting for the acceptance or denile letter.

A month to go before I'll know. Anywho. Any advice of good filler courses in case im not accepted in spring 2016?

I am in the same situation, last semester of prereqs and submitting my application on September 1st for spring 2016. I am in Wyoming and we also have a point based system, last semester cut off was 75 and I have 78 so I really don't know if I will get in, it depends on who applies, but if I don't get in ill reapply for fall and have over 90 points a definite guarantee to get in. It's an adn program and I plan on completing my rn/Bsn while in the program because they have an agreement with university of Wyoming, so my filled courses would be those I need for a Bsn such as chemistry a patho course and a bio course. Not sure the specifics of your program

Hi. Me too. At my school we can't be in any pre-reqs when we apply, but I am taking my last gen ed, A&P 2 and music appreciation. My application is due Sept 1st as well. I have to go to an application workshop tomorrow that's required. The cut off for the past 3 semesters has been 25-27, I'm applying with 30 points. There's also been about 10 alternates get in due to people not claiming their spots. As long as my application is done correctly I think I'll be good, that's what the advisor said.

I'm taking the Gen ed classes needed for the RN-BSN bridge in my "free time" ie- during the summer or if I don't get in.

Ours is a crazy point based system. The max is 122 the least is 58. I have a standing of 79. Which is the middle road.

They changed it this year. It was once a&p 1 and 2 plus college algebra. Now it's a&p 1 and college algebra. Plus you had to take the Kaplan exam. Now it's just points.

I'm so fracking nervous because if I'm denied I'll literally have to find classes to take. Ive taken everything pertinent to the associate's and even half the bachelor pre reqs. It's just frustrating. Our school only lets in 80 each semester. So it's nerve racking.

That is crazy points. Ours goes up to 45 I think is the max. I've heard that for the Fall 2016 my school is going from TEAS to Kaplan in terms of entrance test. I need to get in this semester because I have no idea what this Kaplan test is! They let in 100 students for full time and 36 for part time.

I took Kaplan and it wasn't bad, I got an 80 overall, you need a 70 to apply. Our max points is 120, so at a 78 I don't think it's horrible, my school only accept 40 students so it's stressful. Keep me updated to let me know if you guys get in! I should know by November.

Our school only accepts 80 each semester. There is not part time only fulltime and you have to maintain at least 12 credit hours. Which is hog wash since I completed all mine. I guess I'll be taking organic chem and bull crap english classes the next two years.

I'll know around my birthday if i was accepted. No later than November 1st. So I will keep you updated.

The kaplan isn't horrible from what I have heard. There is a Kaplan prep book for like 20 bucks that people swear by.
